On 10th August 2024, the NSS at CVV – National Service Scheme at Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth – visited the Government Upper Primary School at Kakkanad in Piravom at the request of the headmaster Ms. Usha V.J. The school, while in good condition, showed signs of wear and tear that come with time. However, the dedication of the teachers was evident. They were knowledgeable, deeply cared about the students, and extended warm hospitality to our team. The group of 65 students were assigned the task of creating a more engaging learning environment. They included students from the B.Ed department, psychology department as well as the engineering department. The team painted walls and drew vibrant educational illustrations for walls as a learning aid. In addition to the artistic contributions, the team took on the task of weeding the school grounds, ensuring that the outdoor spaces were clean and safe for the students. The team also cooked meals for themselves and the school board members present. Between the hours of 9:00 am and 7:00 pm, the team had successfully repainted the school walls,drawn creative art, The floors were cleaned, and the school’s name was prominently rewritten in bold, painted letters at the entrance, giving the school a fresh and welcoming appearance. It was not just about physical labor but about contributing to the betterment of the educational environment for young minds. Dr. Bindu M.P., the faculty coordinator, played a pivotal role in making this visit possible, providing guidance and support every step of the way
